Information Crush: Amy’s Show List

July 23, 2009

This is a good weekend to head down to the Cape, specifically Provincetown to catch some great local rock. This is happening now through Sunday, check here for details (clubs, bands, etc…): On Thursday there are a couple of free shows for you to choose from, an early show at Toad with uke guy Melvern Taylor early at 7p and also Lars Vegas at the Alchemist in JP. On Friday, the two shows that look really interesting to me are at TTs with Hooray for Earth and Bleu and at the Cantab The Brooklyns, The Darlings and Highland and Moore. On Saturday if I were in P-Town I would definitely be at Mente cause they’re so bad they’re good. If you need some Good Vibrations, head over to the Hatchshell for the Beach Boys. One of my all time favorites is at the Pavillion, Sir Tom Jones who always puts on an amazing show(My My My…Delilah!). Or if you want something more rockin’ then go to the Cantab for the Bob and the Dickheads show. Tuesday at Toad is the last night of Tony Goddess and the Johns’ residency so if you need a fix of some fun covers this is the show for you (I just wish they would learn some Sweet songs, oh well). On Wednesday the bill at TTs looks really good with The Veils from the UK and LA band Foreign Born, might be worth going out on Hump Day for this one.
