Izzy Maxwell has been performing live music in the Boston scene since he was 7, and is currently a Senior Sound Designer at Harmonix Music Systems in Cambridge. Recently he had the pleasure of working with Giles Martin (son of George Martin) at Abbey Road in London while making “The Beatles: Rock Band.”

Local Band History: Vocalist for Death of the Cool, bass player for Count Zero, guitarist for Anarchy Club, drummer for Live-Sex-Act, bass player for Countess, bass player for Hedwig and The Angry Inch (Boston), guest guitarist for Freezepop… “I’m sure I’m forgetting someone…”

Boston Band Crush Interview:

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most like to have a One Night Band with?
IM: It was Peter Moore for years… then I joined his band 6 years later we’re still going strong! I would have loved to play with PM5K’s original lineup (back when they were Organizized, not MTVizized) Other favorites would be John Dragonetti, Crazy Eddie Nowik, Duncan Wilder Johnson.

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most fear having a One Night Band with?
IM: Des from The Bentmen.

BBC: What is your normal song or part writing process? Will writing three songs in a single day drastically differ from your usual approach to creating music?
IM: I always write songs in the studio.  Painstakingly tuning and perfecting each note over the course of months.  I have no idea how I’m going to translate this style to ONB… it will be trying something completely new.

BBC: What Boston band do you have the biggest crush on right now?
IM: Tie between Math The Band and Oxytocin.
