Benefit Crush: Rest in Beef – A Tribute to Ray Neades, at Church all this Weekend!!!

April 8, 2010

Ask anyone who knew him, and you will hear words like unique, loving, kind, talented, funny, genuine and larger than life to describe Ray Neades (1/16/1967-12/14/2009). If you were lucky enough to have seen him perform with his bands (Beefy DC, Miss Reed), then you understand how his passion for music could infect even the most poised boston rock audience member into raising their horns. Indeed, the man incarnated what is so good about rock and roll, and this weekend at Church, we will all attempt to encompass even a fraction of that energy. Ray Neades, We Salute You!
Rest in Beef: A Tribute to Ray Neades is a billing of nineteen bands assembled to happily volunteer their time and energy, starting tonight through Saturday night. The bands were compiled from friends of Ray and his lovely wife Sandy, who played bass in Boston bands Sugabomb, Heidi and Bosley. All proceeds will go to benefit Sandy and Ray’s family.
The lineups are as follows (all bands listed start to finish):
Thursday, April 8th (Doors at 6PM)
Full Body Anchor (feat. Eric and Kristin Edmonson, Amy Griffin, and Dennis Carver)

Friday, April 9th (Doors at 7PM)
Miss Reed (Ray’s band from Northampton)
Saturday, April 10th (Doors at 7PM)
The Bristols (special reunion appearance)
Beefy DC Tribute
Additional special guests may perform each night.
All shows are $15, or a three day pass is $40
Raffle tickets will be sold for some fine prizes including gift certificates, wine, studio time and more. Also, there will be a silent auction for special items. If you can’t make it to any of the shows, but would like to donate, contact
