Show Crush: Kingsley Flood / That Old Feeling / Balthrop, Alabama / Science @ Lizard Lounge 7/16

July 16, 2010

Kingsley Flood have been very busy bees this week, with great write-ups in both the Phoenix and the Globe. Recently voted Best Roots Act in Boston, the Flood will be playing tonight at the Rhumb Line in Gloucester and tomorrow night at the Lizard Lounge.

The lineup features Brooklyn-based country ensemble Balthrop, Alabama, whose song “Subway Horns” was recently featured as NPR’s Song of the Day. The 10(ish) members perform as locals from the fictional town of Balthrop, AL. I have reason to suspect that there will be dancing:

Also on the bill are Boston blues rock band That Old Feelin, led by Hanna Leess and her amazing voice.

The show opens with local psychedelic roots act Science.
