Show Crush: Township & Bad Company at the Bank of America Pavilion next Tuesday 7/27

July 23, 2010

We must congratulate our comrades Township: the hairy brethren who have been rocking Boston these last few years were just tapped to open for the legendary Bad Company at their Bank of America Pavilion stop. Township have proven to be one of the hardest working acts in the area and those efforts are paying off. Lead singer and local wizard Marc Pinansky called the booking “a dream come true” on his Facebook page, and certainly Township’s sound can be traced back to Free, Bad Company and the other heroes of that era.

They’ll be walking among giants Tuesday evening, so we should do our best to show them support. Do we really want Township to be playing solely for the middle aged crowd that made their way in from the suburbs while they try to find their seats and don’t pay attention to the stage at all? No, we don’t. Let’s give them the crowd they deserve. There are still tickets available at the BOA Pavilion box office and through LiveNation, so I say we pack the place full of local music fans and show those titans that they made the right choice. There is really no downside to this plan – we can watch our friends rock an awesome stage, then stick around and watch the original Bad Company lineup blast through their greatest hits.

Here’s the video for “Gunnin’ Thru the Night” to get you in the mood:
