Nate Leavitt is the guitarist in The Blizzard of 78. When he’s not busy with the Blizzard, playing solo, sitting in with Phil Aiken, OldJack or Brendan Boogie, doing a Cover-Up or performing with Parlour Bells, he teaches children how to rock… and multi-task!

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most like to have a One Night Band with?
NL: The list for this years ONB is amazing and I would be honored to play with any of them. I have already had the pleasure of playing with some of them but a couple of standouts are Dan Nicklin and Kate Murdoch.

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most fear having a One Night Band with?
NL: Myself.

BBC: Did you attend One Night Band last year? If so, what was the highlight? If not, what do you anticipate the event to be like?
NL: I did attend last years show and one of the highlights for me was watching The Champagne of Bands rock a fierce set of music showcasing the broad styles of each member.

BBC: What is your normal song or part writing process? Will writing three songs in a single day drastically differ from your usual approach to creating music?
NL: Normally I pick up a guitar and start noodling on riffs or chord patterns then if something works I’ll start mumbling a melody. When writing with the whole band we usually jam on an idea for a little then work in secondary parts. While I think the approach for ONB will be challenging I don’t think it will be drastically different.

BBC: What Boston band do you have the biggest crush on right now?
NL: Sidewalk Driver.
