Show Crush: MEandJOANCOLLINS / Mrs. Danvers / Yes, Sir / Pam Autuori at TT’s tonight

August 10, 2010

Tonight at TT the Bear’s, the Boston Dyke March presents MEandJOANCOLLINS, Mrs. Danvers, Yes, Sir, and Pam Autuori. There are a lot of good lineups around the city this summer, but few are as powerful and sexy as this one. Pam Autuori is a local singer songwriter who has been making the Boston / Cambridge / Allston rounds of late. Then There’s queer rock supergroup Yes, Sir – a few of whom will be pulling double duty tonight. They had their first show just a few weeks ago at the Midway and left everyone wanting more. Mrs. Danvers is in the second to last spot, sounding like a ‘60s girl group and Chrissy Hynde beating the crap out of Rick Astley, their range of sounds and influences will keep you on your toes. Finally, there’s MEandJOANCOLLINS. What can be said about them that hasn’t been said already? Bo Barringer and Jen Grygiel have been destroying stages around Boston for years with their filthy as hell, glam covered fury. They play with well deserved bravado, whipping the audience into a booze soaked frenzy every time. Also, if you have a sharpie, Jen will autograph any exposed flesh you present her with.

The Boston Dyke March strives “to provide a dynamic and welcoming space for participants of all sexualities, genders, races, ages, ethnicities, sizes, economic backgrounds, and physical abilities… to create a place where political and social change can be expressed and inspired.” Surely that’s something we can all appreciate.
