Road Trip Crush: Tweed River Music Festival in Stockbridge, VT this weekend

August 12, 2010

This weekend, the Second Annual Tweed River Music Festival is happening up in Stockbridge, Vermont. The brainchild of Beantown friends Bow Thayer and the Perfect Trainwreck, the music festival was such a huge success last year that they’re doing it again.

I am lucky enough to be road tripping to this event with a friend from Boston to stay with another of our Boston pals living in Vermont. Once we get there, we will be greeted by 19 amazing bands over the course of the weekend, of which at least half hail from or have members who are from Boston.

Let’s try to count them… there’s Andrea Gillis, Roadsaw and Church of the Howl on Friday; Gilded Splinters, The Weisstronauts, Cropduster, Reverse and Tim Gearan on Saturday; and Le Mistral, Eric Royer, Dennis Brennan and Dopapod on Sunday. Phew.

Weekend passes (including camping) or day passes (no camping) are available at the gate. Kids with paid adult are free.
