Lisa Libera plays bass and sings for Muy Cansado. She’s been playing bass since she was 15 (and music since she was 5) and has loved every minute of it.

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most like to have a One Night Band with?
LL: Oh, I can’t choose just a few, there are too many I haven’t played with. Boston is ripe with excellent musicians.

BBC: What Boston rockers, past or present, would you most fear having a One Night Band with?
LL: I know no such fear.

BBC: Did you attend One Night Band last year? If so, what was the highlight? If not, what do you anticipate the event to be like?
LL: Sadly,I missed One Night Band last year, but I expect the event to be a lot of fun. It will be like playtime for musians. It will be cool to see what we all come up with.

BBC: What is your normal song or part writing process? Will writing three songs in a single day drastically differ from your usual approach to creating music?
LL: I’m a noodler. I like to mess around on an instrument until I start playing a groove I like, and the idea developes from there. I usually can’t finish a song to my satisfaction without collaboration from other musicians, so working with a group to create songs is something I am used to and fits me well.

BBC: What Boston band do you have the biggest crush on right now?
LL: Probably the Woodrow Wilsons. They have good songs and make me feel warm and fuzzy.

  1. from The WWs: It's mutual. Lisa is so gutsy with her bass lines! And a phenomenal performer. Really looking forward to Muy Cansado's EP release.
