Information Crush: Amy’s Shows List

August 20, 2010

First things first, sorry for the delay, computer issues. Now back to our regularly scheduled posting…

On Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs. So many choices, so little time. On Thursday it’s the final Third Thursday for a couple of months at the Rosebud with The Vivs and Goli (don’t worry, it looks like the series will be back in December). Also on Thursday Three Day Threshold will be tearing it up at Toad. Did I mention on Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs? On Friday TTs has a great line-up with The Organ Beats and Marc Pinansky(of Township) while The Plough and Stars has O’Hallorans and a whole bunch of their friends. And if you’re south of Boston, The Weisstronauts are in Quincy, Rhett Miller is on the Cape and the English Beat are in Providence. Saturday night has lots of great options. There’s the big One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs and if you haven’t experienced it before, trust me it’s a blast. Also on Saturday is a free show on the Waltham Common with The Belmonts and The Crickets (I love that one of the original Crickets wrote the theme song for the Mary Tyler Moore Show). And at the Cantab, you can help Nancy Neon celebrate her birthday and check out the new line-up of the Port Charles Quintet along with the Arch MacDonald Quintet, Sticky Business and Ramone 5. And if that’s not enough for Saturday night, 5-Point and Brownboot are at the Rosebud. Did I mention on Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs? On Sunday it’s gonna be a great night at Church with The Arkannes (from Liverpool), Streight Angular and My Own Worst Enemy, music starts early so plan accordingly MOWE goes on at 8:30p and you don’t want to miss them. Did I mention on Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs? Monday night has Doomstar! and Hands and Knees doing a free gig at ZuZu’s which looks cool. Did I mention on Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs? Tuesday at TTs has Banditas, Shepardess and Sister Spaceman, can I call it a chick night? Nah, I’ll just call it an excellent line-up, especially for a Tuesday night. Did I mention on Saturday night there’s One Night Band at the Middle East Downstairs? And on Wednesday if you like rockabilly, Western swing, honky tonk, roots, bluegrass and everything in between, well you’ll be at the Midway for Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics.
