Show Crush: The Unfamiliars / Wye Oak / Lou Barlow tonight at the MidEast up

September 2, 2010

As legend (erm, their press release) goes, The Unfamiliars – featuring local journalist and author David Wildman on vocals & guitar – formed when Wildman compiled a band to prepare a demo for his audition for the reality show Rock Band INXS. Wildman’s stab at becoming the next Michael Hutchence was short-lived but The Unfamiliars lived on. Tonight at the Middle East upstairs, they’ll open the big show headlined by local-ish legend Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and Folk Implosion fame. In between is Merge Records’ Wye Oak.

The Unfamiliars 9pm
Wye Oak 10pm
Lou Barlow + the Missing Men 11pm
18+ $12
