Show Crush: For the Sake of the Song presents Americana at the Armory on Saturday

September 10, 2010

For The Sake of the Song, a local underground/house concert series helmed by singer/songwriter Patrick Coman,  is celebrating it’s one year anniversary tomorrow night with an Americana show at the Armory Café. Coman himself will play a set, as will Garlic & Moonshine, described as a “Boston-based trio with influences ranging from folk to jazz, blues, and funk,” and Dressing the Debutantes, who perform “authentic southern bred roots rock tunes.” We bet if you come back to BBC in an hour or so, C.D. might have a song from them for you to download away…

More on FtSotS:

For the Sake of the Song, which takes its name from a song by the legendary singer/songwriter Townes Van Zandt, was founded by Boston musician Patrick Coman. Arriving in Allston after living for several years in Berlin, Germany with its abundance of underground and DIY venues, he saw an opportunity to use his experiences to add to Allston’s fledging house concert scene. Beginning with casual living room performances, the series has expanded over the last year to include performances at local art galleries, parks, and community centers as part of a goal to present local musicians in unique and entertaining environments.
