Show Crush: Mascara and Dennis Brennan at Atwood’s tomorrow

October 6, 2010
Atwood’s Tavern is bringing two unique and very different voices to Cambridge Thursday night:

Mascara play bold, grandiose masterpieces with the passion and fury of an ill equipped garage punk band. Taking the stage like a madman messiah, singer Chris Mascara twists his way through a labyrinth of proggy riffs, art rock theatrics and human drama that constantly keeps audiences on their toes. Alone, he is a force to be reckoned with, but when backed by the incomparable team of Bo Barringer and Matt Graber (on bass and drums, respectively), he becomes a rock ‘n’ roll behemoth.

Dennis Brennan is a Boston rock veteran of the highest order. Hard-working and down to earth, he’s a hardcore rocker as much as he is a storytelling poet. Mixing soul with rock and roots, he has earned a reputation for giving his all at every single performance. Through his songwriting we’re shown that he is a constantly evolving artist, never content to fall back on past accolades and instead embracing every experience as an opportunity for reflection.
