Information Crush: Amy’s Shows List

November 4, 2010

I can’t believe it’s November already, how did that happen? Fortunately there are so many great shows to herald in the new month. On Thursday it’s night 2 of 5 nights of the International Pop Fest at Pa’s Lounge, this night has the Doom Buggies, The Brigands, Fireking and more. Also on Thursday Chuck Prophet is at the Lizard (for the first of 2 nights) and there’s some surf music at Toad with the Electric Heaters. Friday’s big show is Guided By Voices at the Paradise with the original 1992-1996 line-up. This show is going to be great and I hope you have your tickets as it’s been soldout for eons. If you’re not going to the Paradise on Friday, don’t worry, you have lots of great options. There’s a stellar bill at the Rosebud with JJ and Thee Cuban Heels, Port Charles Quintet and The Weisstronauts; at Pa’s Lounge it’s night 3 of the Pop Fest with Watts Fox Pass and more and at Precinct it’s the first night of the Gram National (2 night tribute to Gram Parsons) with Twang Em High, Highway Ghosts and more. Saturday night has more pop music at Pa’s this time with The Gripweeds, The Montgomerys, The Shellye Valauskas Experience and others; at Precinct it’s night 2 of the Gram National with The Molenes, Rocking Horse Rodeo to name a few and at the Rosebud Slim Jim and the Mad Cows, Tony the Bookie and The Dumpsters perform. On Sunday the International Pop Overthrow concludes with with This Blue Heaven, The Destries, Corin Ashley and more at Pa’s Lounge and at TT’s Atlanta’s own Drivin n Cryin is playing. Drivin n Cryin have been touring with borrowed and donated equipment since their trailer was stolen early on during this tour so they’d probably appreciate your support. Monday night has the Honors and Yukon Gold at Great Scotts and if you’re looking for a night of Mexican Wrestling and Burlesque (and who isn’t looking for that?) check out Lucha Vavoom at Royale. On Tuesday Air Traffic Controller and Bleu are at TTs and Barcode Romantic are at Pa’s Lounge. And on Wednesday night Scarce is at the Plough and Stars and the One Eskimo show originally scheduled for Harpers Ferry (RIP) is at TTs with Hugo opening.
