Show Crush: Scott Kelly / Wino / Brodsky & Cave In / Keith Bennett at Great Scott tomorrow

February 9, 2011

Metal dudes can play nice too! If you don’t believe me, check out the lineup at Great Scott tomorrow night. The frontmen from two influential heavy metal bands, Scott Kelly (Neurosis) and Scott “Wino” Weinrich (St. Vitus), have teamed up again. However, instead of playing together in their all-star doom metal band Shrinebuilder, the dudes will be taking the stage to play their own solo acoustic sets.

This is not a new concept for local metal monger Keith Bennett.  Though typically screaming and playing bass for Panzerbastard, Keith recently showed his “quieter” side, playing solo at the debut of Mondo Thursdays last November. You can catch him doing his solo thing again tomorrow night.

Since his time with local metalcore luminaries Cave In, frontman Stephen Brodsky has proven himself to be quite the successful singer/songwriter and has worked with a number of side projects. Originally set to play solo himself, Stephen decided to also bring out the rest of the Merrimack Valley quartet to help amp up his set.

Presented by Ammonia Booking, the lineup for the night goes something like this:

Keith Bennett ~ 8:30
Steve Brodsky and Cave In ~ 9:15
Wino ~ 10:30-11:15
Scott Kelly ~ 11:30-12:15
Scott Kelly & Wino (duo) ~ 12:15 til 12:45
