Information Crush: Amy’s Shows List

February 24, 2011

As February comes to an end (do I hear cheers?), let’s see what’s going on in clubland. On Thursday you can start your evening at Toad early for some uke music from Melvern Taylor and His Fabulous Meltones. Later on head over to the Lizard Lounge for the last night of the February Residency of Will Dailey and the Rivals with guests the Russians and Brian Bergeron. Friday night has lots of good choices: at the Lizard Lounge is The Cover Up Presents the British Invasion with The Lights Out as The Kinks, Muy Casando as The Stones, Gilded Splinters as The Who and The New Million Dollar Box at The Beatles (get there early or buy advance tix, these shows always sell out); Sally O’Brien’s is The Battleships Cometh, The Doom Buggies, Black Fortress of Opium and Dark Martini (for free!) and at TTs is Jesse Malin + the St Marks Social, Andrea Gillis Band and JJ + Thee Cuban Heels (great line-up!). On Saturday Sodafrog, Old Jack and Davinna Yannetty are at the Rosebud. Also on Saturday Bobby Long and Kingsley Flood are at Brighton Music Hall and Big East, The Acre, Poor but Sexy and Banana Phonetic are at Great Scott. It’s a busy Sunday night. Starting early at 6p at the Brighton Music Hall is the Boston to Austin SXSW Party with Static of the Gods, Endless Wave, Mean Creek, Mystery Roar, The Dirty Dishes, Viva Viva, Bandidtas and more; Lady Lamb the Beekeeper is at Johnny D’s and The Toasters are at the Middle East Upstairs. On Monday Dan Webb + the Spiders, The Cold Beat, Hands + Knees and The Scamps are at Charlie’s Kitchen and ZuZu has Pairdown and Eric Carbonara. Tuesday has Secret School at the Enormous Room and some band named Motorhead is at the House of Blues. On Wednesday night, The Smith Westerns are at Great Scott and The Dum Dum Girls are at the Brighton Music Hall.
