Show Crush: the Noise 30th anniversary party with Tijuana Sweetheart / Blow Your Face Out / Jason Bennett and the Resistance / Mark Lind & Mike Savitkas at the Middle East upstairs tonight

February 25, 2011

The Noise, Boston’s vernerable rock publication slash local internet Algonquin round table, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a series of live shows all over the city. Tonight photographer Nicole Tammaro will be taking over the Middle East upstairs to pay homage with a bill that will drive through Central Square like a rocket powered monster truck.

Tijuana Sweetheart
will cap off the night with a set of snarling, fiery punk anthems; these ladies are absolutely punk-done-right, not just a collection of pre-ripped Hot Topic t-shirts and slightly faster paced pop cliches. Jason Bennett and the Resistance offer up intelligent, powerful sing-a-long rock; a mixture of bar room anthems and tightly crafted punk that’s deceptively complex. J. Geils tribute band Blow Your Face Out will be on hand, and getting the night started will be Mark Lind of the Ducky Boys and Mike Savitkas of Death & Taxes with an acoustic collaboration for the ages. If you’re still on the fence, we hear there’ll also be free ‘gannsett and party favors galore.
