Information Crush: Amy’s Shows List

March 25, 2011

What a great weekend coming up for music. Starting on Thursday at the Rosebud Jordan Valentine and the Sunday Saints continue their residency with guests The Irresponsibles and Son of the Rudds and at the Plough and Stars Mondo Thursday is happening with Tom Baker, Ian Adams and Peet Golan. And if you need a little shot of lo-fi indie rock the place to be is the Paradise for Sebadoh with guest Richard Buckner. On Friday night, there’s a Nancy Neon Garage Night with the Lyres, Satin Kittens, My Own Worst Enemy, and Hillbilly Holiday (ex members of BABY RAY) at the Cantab. Also on Friday there’s Bonfire Bandit, Vanzetti (CD release), The Fury and Defference at Precinct which is a benefit for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief for Japan and at TT’s there’s Apache Stone featuring Michael Lombardi of FX’s “Rescue Me,” The Vital Might, Roman Traffic, The Susan Constant (who are celebrating their CD release). On Saturday afternoon starting at 1pm there’s a huge show for a deserving cause at TT’s with the Boston Rocks for Japan Benefit with Muck and the Mires, Tokyo Tramps, This Blue Heaven, The Daily Pravda, Keith Pierce & Friends, Ryan Lee Crosby, Leesa & Travis (Naked on Roller Skates), Davina Yannetty and Dirty Bombs. If you can only go to one show this is it. On Saturday night The Grownup Noise (CD release), Kingsley Flood, Spouse and Joe Fletcher + the Wrong Reasons are at the Middle East Downstairs; at the Brighton Music Hall there’s J Mascis (hmmmm… J. Mascis and Lou Barlow almost in town at the same time, so close to a Dinosaur Jr. reunion) and Kurt Vile performing and at the Paradise if you’re in the mood for a little gypsy styled music check out Devotchka. Sunday there’s an amazing show at the Middle East Downstairs with Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears and Those Darlins. Both bands are great live performers so the Middle East will be rockin’. Also on Sunday John Doe (from X) will be at Passim for an acoustic set and The Papercuts and Still Corners are at the Brighton Music Hall. On Monday The Green, The Movement and Riki Rocksteady are at TT’s. Tuesday night has The Joy Formidable at Brighton Music Hall and Deep Dark Robot (featuring Linda Perry) is at Great Scott. And on Wednesday The Dears are at the Brighton Music Hall with Garvy J and Parlour Bells and An Horse is at the Middle East Upstairs.
