Information Crush: Amy’s Shows List

Feeling tired this week so I don’t know how chatty I’ll be but there are lots of great shows coming up so I will carry on and do my darnedest. On Thursday, The Rumble Preliminaries continue at TT’s with Triple Thick, Static of the Gods, Mellow Bravo and The Acro-brats. Also on Thursday at the Plough and Stars you can check out Jeddo Stars, Litehouse and Mattison. Friday has The Old 97s with opener Teddy Thompson at Royale and at the Paradise is Buffalo Tom (who have a great new CD called Skins). And there’s more Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble Preliminaries at TT’s with Tired Old Bones, Stereo Telescope, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling and Keep Me Conscious. Saturday night has The Hush Now, Eddie Japan and Alta Mira at PA’s Lounge and at the Plough and Stars there’s Rebecca Gates (from the Spinanes) + the Consortium and Blue Cranes. And there’s more Rumble action on Saturday with with Cradle to the Grave, The Year Million, Black Thai and Sidewalk Driver at TT’s. Sunday afternoon has Scotland’s King of Western Swing, Stretch Dawson, at the Midway (it’s an early show at 4:30p so plan accordingly). Later on Sunday evening break out your floral shirts and leis and get a taste of nice weather by checking out The Waitiki Festival of Music and Cocktail at Russell House Tavern, Cambridge which starts at 6p. On Monday Streight Angular is at ZuZu and around the corner at TT’s is Liam Finn (son of Neil Finn from Crowded House). Tuesday night has Wye Oak, Callers and Jaggery at Middle East Upstairs and TT’s has Memphis and The Barr Brothers. Wednesday has Handsome Furs at Great Scott.
